The point is not if it's fair that the boy became succesful. If someone have an opportunity, he/she need to take it, of course. The point is people need to stop thinking they DESERVE to have things. They simply don't!
When people think they deserve things, they start to treat others bad, as if those who aren't as sucessful as them were unworthy, and soon start to act like jerks. That is the point.
You can be succesful and not think you deserve it. That will make you be more happy and grateful for what you have, and you will treat others better as well.
But of course people won't change their minds. Sad.
